Good Old Summer Time

Can you believe it?  I think maybe, just maybe . . . summer is here?  At least school is out and the pool is open, so I'm assuming the season really is summer.  In Idaho who knows!  When the weather warms up and the kids (big and little) spend their time outside playing, one of the first things we reach for to quench our thirst is a sports drink or a soda.

Just a few warnings about these tooth terror liquids.  Did you know  that sports drinks many times will contain more sugar than some cola products and cause greater enamel damage?  Continuous sipping throughout the day constantly bathes the teeth in sugar and creates a perfect breeding ground for plaque.  Not to mention the acid found in the sports drinks and sodas can eat away at the enamel of your teeth in less 20 minutes!  If you are going to drink, gulp the liquid down rather than sipping and at least rinse your mouth with water after.

As always, water is the very best thirst buster available and it's far cheaper!
